My name is Ricky Dul. I’m a product designer from the Rotterdam area. While I was growing up in Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel my interest for design started to immerse. Firstly in the form of a great interest and aptitude for drawing. Secondly, when someone would ask my what I wantend to be when I grew up I would say: “I want to be in charge of the people who build the houses”.
Therefore, when the time came during high school to start orienting myself on which study and university I would like to attend, I started looking at architecture programs. I soon realised that architecture wasn’t for me. My interest had greatly expanded beyond the interest in houses I had as a kid, and I was afraid going into an architecture program wouldn’t satisfy my broadening interests.
That’s when I found out about the industrial design engineering field and program at the Delft University of Technology. The combination of being able to apply both my technical and creative skills in the broad field of product design spoke to me instantly.
I’m currently in the end phase of my masters degree in Integrated Product Design at the Delf University of Technology and looking for an interesting and challenging project to finish my degree with a bang!
